When it comes to the holidays, I know that I spend way too much time trying to figure out what to wear. As a little girl, my mom used to force us to wear these super fancy outfits for every holiday dinner because the photos were important to her. Of course these outfits were itchy, tight, and not conducive to eating copious amounts of mashed potatoes. As an adult, I get so caught up in the Instagram worthy outfits I think I should be wearing rather than just wearing what I know I’ll be comfortable in. And it’s taken me a long time to realize that “comfortable” also means I look and feel like myself. So here are 3 simple outfits to try this Thanksgiving.

1. Minimalist Outfit: Minimalism is the new normal. It’s effortless and chic. Go ahead and dress in all black this Thanksgiving. Wear your most comfortable black attire and add a pop of color through your accessories. You can add leopard print flats, a tan cardigan, or flashy earrings. This outfit says less is more in a sophisticated way.

2. The Cozy Outfit: Let’s be honest. Thanksgiving is a time to feast. I know I will eat lots of turkey, drink wine, and indulge in some delicious desserts. Does this make me a bad person, NO. Does it make me human, YES. Being comfortable on a day of feasting isn’t a bad idea. Wearing a pair of leggings and a dressier top makes any outfit instantly cozy but still put together. Leggings are like pajamas. And the best part is that they’re stretchy too. Win win.

3. The Dressy Outfit: This one is for the little girl in me who was forced to wear a fancy outfit for every holiday dinner. Luckily, fashion has come a long way and dressier outfits can be comfortable too. Pairing your favorite dress with a pair of boots and tights is a great way to keep your outfit simple. If you live in a warmer climate, skip the tights. Either way, wear a dress that you love on your body. Something that makes you feel instantly put together the second you put it on. That’s how you can keep it simple.

I hope you have an incredibly delicious Thanksgiving surrounded by people you love. I am so so so grateful for each and every one of you supporting me in this journey. And remember, you deserve to dress your body the way it is. Because you are beautiful just as you are. Happy Thanksgiving!
